Frequent Headaches: When Is It More Than Just Stress?

Many people blame headaches on long work hours, poor sleep, dehydration, or screen exposure. While that is often true, headaches that become frequent or unusually severe should not always be dismissed as routine stress.

The brain and nervous system can produce warning signs through recurring pain patterns.

A headache that appears suddenly, affects one side repeatedly, causes nausea, or disturbs sleep may require neurological assessment.

Some headaches are linked to migraine, while others may result from nerve-related causes, blood pressure fluctuations, cervical strain, or sleep disturbances.

Warning signs include:

  • headache with blurred vision
  • numbness in hands
  • dizziness
  • vomiting
  • headache increasing over weeks

Early diagnosis often helps avoid prolonged discomfort and unnecessary anxiety.
